What is the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)?  Definition below:

The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), originally passed in 1938, is a federal law which upholds labor standards for workers in the United States.

The purpose of the Fair Labor Standards Act is to protect the rights of employees and maintain fair and safe standards of work. The FLSA maintains standards for minimum wage, child labor, overtime pay, and record-keeping.
