What is Human Resources Information System (HRIS)?  Definition below:

Human Resource Information System is a software technology that allows HR professionals to perform and track HR tasks electronically.

A HRIS allows HR professionals to easily plan and track costs associated with HR activities.  Human Resource Information Systems greatly improve efficiency of HR departments through automation and organization. The term HRIS is often used interchangeably with HRMS (Human Resources Management System).
